Spam Fighter Drives Productivity

35 Minutes

Spammers continue to assault e-mail inboxes around the world, and the spiraling global cost of their crimes is expected reach $100 billion in 2007.

Furthermore, spam accounts for as much as 90% of all email, and much of it comes from the former Soviet Union and China.

The spam frequently gets relayed in the United States by home and business computers infected with programs that turn computers into clandestine spammers.

To combat this threat companies are leveraging tactics that include a perimeter defense against denial-of-service and directory harvest attacks.

However, with a zero tolerance for lost email being the norm, false-positives need to be minimized while long-term spam block rates must be kept high.

We interview Ron Longo to gain Red Condor's perspective on email security.
