NASA Taps DB Consulting for $88M Services Deal

8 Aug 2008

NASA's Glenn Research Center has awarded a follow-on contract to DB Consulting Group of Silver Spring, Md., for a variety of tasks including work involved in computer science, computer and software engineering, security, networking, application development and Web services at the center.

The total value of the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, including a three-year base period of performance and one two-year option, is approximately $88 million. The contract is due to begin in September 2008.

Consequently, DB Consulting will be expanding its workforce by about 70 employees to handle the contract which is its biggest award to date.

"This is our biggest contract as a prime," said president and CEO Gerald Boyd. "We've won a couple of larger ones, but those were joint ventures. I won this one as a recomplete, since we had worked on a contract with them before, for about $60 million. We felt with our NASA experience that we had a chance at this but it was a very competitive procurement." The contract has a three-year base period and one two-year option.

DB Consulting has about 250 employees, with offices in Washington, Atlanta and Huntsville, Ala.
