HP Intros Client
Virtualization, Analysis and Modeling Service with SysTrack Technology
November 14, 2011
HP today announced a new service that helps organizations speed the
design and implementation of client virtualization solutions and achieve
a greater return on their technology investments.
Integrating
Lakeside SysTrack software, the new HP Client Virtualization, Analysis
and Modeling service also helps mitigate the risk of downtime and
tighten security by providing customers an understanding of how to best
leverage technologies such as VMware View, Microsoft Windows 7 and
Citrix Systems’ XenDesktop.
“We needed to reduce IT operating costs to continue providing our
customers with the service they expect, but lacked the information on
how to successfully implement client virtualization technologies,” said
Andrew Cain, systems engineer IV in the IT Systems Engineering Group at
KCP&L – a full-service energy provider. “With the combination of HP’s
service and Lakeside SysTrack software, we were able to better
understand our IT environment to more efficiently embrace
virtualization, allowing for greater response time to our customers’
needs.”
Offering organizations increased insight, reduced costs
The HP Client Virtualization, Analysis and Modeling service offers
organizations a path to a properly planned and sized virtualization
project, allowing them to take advantage of client virtualization
technologies with:
-
Insight
into user segments and applications that streamline a client’s path
to a virtualized desktop environment by identifying applications in
the computing environment, how applications are utilized and which
user segments could be successfully virtualized.
- Custom planning
allowing organizations to reduce desktop costs by validating and
tuning plans for client virtualization solutions that will help
avoid performance and stability issues, improve end-user
productivity and simplify desktop support and security.
- Client migration
services that provide organizations with a simplified process for
moving customer-centric data to new environments.
“Organizations need
to accurately design the right desktop solution for each client’s
segment, which requires information that’s specific to their environment
and unique computing needs,” said Tom Norton, global practice director,
Microsoft and Client Infrastructure Consulting Services, Technology
Services, HP. “HP and Lakeside Software have deep industry expertise
advising organizations on how to best transform the desktop
virtualization experience.”
“Customers invest significant capital expenditures into the supporting
infrastructure and the information needed to make client virtualization
a success,” said Mike Spray, director, Corporate Alliances, Lakeside
Software. “The HP Client Virtualization, Analysis and Modeling service
with SysTrack technology empowers organizations with an unparalleled
understanding of their environments by providing the information needed
to more quickly deliver high-priority business services, reduce cost and
safeguard business continuity.” |
