Byron Banks, SAP: ISYS Search Selected for Document Filters to Provide Enhanced Text Data Extraction Capabilities

ISYS Search Software has reached an OEM agreement with SAP in which its Document Filters technology will be used to enhance the capabilities of SAP’s new generation of enterprise applications. ISYS Document Filters technology will replace Oracle’s OutsideIn and Autonomy’s KeyView products.

ISYS’s Document Filters technology is the core ‘engine’ that allows organizations to search, find, process, analyze and view (in high definition) large volumes of text-based content – critical in enabling employees to quickly and easily extract value from ‘unstructured’ content (such as emails, presentations and documents).

Unstructured information (which according to IDC typically accounts for 80 per cent of the information inside an organization) exists in multiple formats and cannot be handled currently by existing database systems for real-time analysis.

SAP joins a number of Independent Software Vendors that have all selected the enterprise search and content filtering technology from ISYS, including MarkLogic, Sybase (an SAP Company), Attensity, Proofpoint, HP, EMC and SAIC TeraText – many of which are active in the rapidly developing text analytics “Big Data” marketplace.
